SITN on the Road
"SITN on the Road" is a new initiative by Science in the News to make our seminar series available to a larger and more diverse community. While this year we will only be offering our seminar series at our Harvard Medical School location, we welcome inquiries into how you might be able to bring SITN to your own community. Starting in 2004, SITN teamed up with Action for Boston Community Development , a human resources agency that aims to foster community development and education in a number of Boston neighborhoods, to bring a subset of our lectures to Boston-Area communities outside of Harvard Medical School.
Bringing our lectures to community-based sites, offering them at different times of day than our normal seminar series, and presenting them in a bilingual format (at some locations) is part of an effort to expand our audience and make our scientific discussions and explanations more accessible to the public.
